ATTENTION Mr. Owner and moderators! Would it be possible to make this a sticky?
There are many very nice and very helpful members here and it is fairly well known that this is the case. Obviously from some of the threads I have seen here lately, there are some, including newbies that are not aware of this and that is the purpose of this thread.
If anyone buys a car without looking at it or having a knowledgeable party look at it for them, it is my opinion that they have no right to complain at all on this site about what happens if an unscrupulous seller takes advantage of them because here is a place they can come for assistance.
Obviously, there are times and circumstances where the seller may be a known and trusted member where it is known will provide honest assessments and those are special circumstances where each buyer will have to make their own decision as to whether or not, they choose to have someone look at a vehicle for them.
It is my opinion that we should offer assistance to each other. Especially for those not knowledgeable or beginners that simply don't know what they are looking at.
Obviously there are those very knowledgeable and capable of purchasing on their own.
This is only a thread to offer the service for free or for a nominal fee to those that are interested in receiving help with having a knowledgeable board in the area of a vehicle that they are looking at a car for members to help members in looking over a car for purchase.
My personal opinion would be that even if someone is willing to help for free that the member requesting assistance make some sort of reasonable renumeration for the assistance because people are offering their time and expertise and that would be a fair expectation in my opinion.
Ignorance is no excuse when you have knowledgeable people that are willing to help.
My suggestion is that this thread be made a sticky and all those willing to help, post their location and the extent of their willingness here as well as those that would like help posting here the area that need help for anyone willing to help be able to know and contact them.
While we all, including me are typically very busy with our own lives, families and/or businesses. I personally have quite a bit going on, but always try to do whatever I can to help others. So, I will be the first here to openly offer. If anyone needs help in the Central Virginia area feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help to whatever extent you need.
I will always be happy to talk on the phone to offer my opinion and help in any way that I can.
Please let me know what I can do to help.
Thanks,
Bryan & Amy Turner
