IS 4.5 B.S TO big on the back?
what size tires should be used.
front will be 15x7 with 4" bs

Yes. Might have to use a small spacer to keep the tire from rubbing the frame. I run 275-60-15.

Jack the car up and put jack stands under the rear end. Take the whee;s off and use a straight edge and a tape to see how much room you have.;) It may work depending on the tire used.

will do. what got me thinking it may though.
Detroit wheels Grand National 15x8" 4" b/s with a -12mm offset ( -12 equals about .47 " )
looking at some 15x8 164p's 3.75 b/s with a -19mm offset (.748" )

they also have a 15x7" 3.68 b/s with a 9mm offset ( which is .35 " ) which would be for the front

may just go with some American Racing Ansen slot repo's look pretty nice polished . never seen them on a regal but I like the more vintage look.

4" BS is perfect. 4.5 needs a small spacer. 3.5 needs the lips rolled and the rear up in the air.

Depends on your tire and drums. 4.5" bs with a aluminum drum fits with 275/60, iron drum they touch and could use a small spacer.

This is assuming the body is straight on the frame which as we know isn't always the case.

Why are you adding the offset to the backspace? The backspace is from the rims edge to where the axle will sit. It's a fixed number. Nothing to add to it. If it needed 9mm added to it...it would be listed as such.
As for the American Slots...I run the 5 window ET Racing high/ low angle rims. Very vintage looking. 3.75 backspace.
