What kind of lives some GNX's had?...

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to list all GNX's from #001 to #547 and put a note besides each of them as whatever happened to them (still alive, wrecked, stolen, rebuilt, restored, or even driven daily etc...) I realize this is a next-to-impossible task, but knowing what kind of existence each of them had would be quite interesting, now that more than 20 years have passed. Some lucky ones probably had a pampered life and some not-so-lucky ones fell into the wrong hands and did not get the "lives" they deserved and got wasted. Which GNX's are dead for sure?...I visited the GNX registry, but I find that there isn't a lot of detailed info about this.

Here Ill start the list with an easy one. GNX #1 has been owned by Buick since the beggining and it makes appearances from time to time. I also heard that #2 was also origionally in Buicks Museum but have not been able to confirm this.

i agree, i had checked the gnx reg. but only found limited info. i thought i would have been able to see info from all the years, and which ones were gone. i'd like the info on the gn's as well, many have been stolen and parted out. this is a great idea, i'm glad you thought of it, how long before you think you'll have the list finished?

So what you're saying is Cars don't hurt people,It's People that hurt cars,

#500, not #002 is also owned by Buick and is kept at the Sloan museum in Michigan. #002 is in private hands.

#139 is alive and well despite a rough childhood. She was stolen out of her crib (garage) in 1990 from her original father. In fact all of her siblings were stolen that day as well. Her owner had a rather nice collection of cars. She went missing for a rather long time until she was found in a ware house with other missing cars. So much time had passed that the owner collected on the insurance, so when the car was found she went to the custody of the insurance company who sold her to a car broker. I bought her in December of 1991 as a stolen recovery and have owner her since. She has been well taken care of since. Incidentally, I was able to track down the original owner through some records searches. The owner had passed away a few years ago, but I had a great conversation with the wife and son. They still had the numbered book and jacket and sold them to me for a very reasonable price. The son remembered the car even though he was only about 10 at the time. She has 33k on the clock. She is in not in mint condition, she has a few scratches and nicks but she's pretty enough for me to take out to the local shows when it is not raining.

#442 HAS HAD A HARD LIFE! but is alive and well and is very fast! the owner has more patient's than anyone! and the car turned out very, very nice!
