Finished replacement of an axle bearing, new drain and fill plugs ( that I should have done when I put it in). Also new bracing on the trailing arm to frame mounts, upgraded to 1/2" bolting too.

Removed my headlight bezels that had those "black out " headlight covers installed by the previous owner with velcro which I absolutely hated. Couldn't remove the remaining Velcro strip adhesive , so I installed new ones I purchased from Kirban's --- which was a very nice product , by the way. Put the new ones on and they fit perfectly. * Much* nicer. Took her to a local detailer ( that has an excellent reputation ) for an estimate on a buff job because I want the finish as perfect as possible for an upcoming local car show.
He and two of his employees-- all in their mid to late 20's -- spent at least 25 minutes "oohing and aweing" at how clean and original it was. Made me feel like the proverbial proud papa.
Anyway, I looked at some of their work and was quite impressed. Told them they could use my car as sort of an advertisement for their business as I would place a flyer of theirs on the dashboard or seat. He thanked me and told me he would knock off some $$ for the buffing. Bad news is that my only daughter ( my baby) scheduled her engagement party on the same day as the big car show -- so no car show for this daddy. Bummer. Don't want to disappoint her on a very important day for her. I guess one has to chalk it up to the price of being a "daddy", a price that I have always been willing to pay. Sometimes that ain't easy, but I always try to follow my own Pop's example given to me throughout my own life. He certainly paid the price of being a "daddy" many times over. Consider it a lesson learned. People you love always come first.

Picked up car from the detailer. The "kid" ( heck he's 30 years old! ) did an impeccably great job. Removed every speck of dirt inside and out, cleaned the wheel wells and got rid of all the tiny paint swirls. Paint now looks like a sheet of black glass. I mean the entire car looks fantastic.
Let him drive it with me in the pax seat. He started driving it like a gramma. Told him to " Get her straight, then give her a little gas." He got into a little bit of boost and broke the rear tires loose for a second. Kid yelled out and about crapped his pants.

Spoke with my daughter about the car show. She got in my face and absolutely insisted I go. Now, I always taught her to 'Say what you mean and mean what you say'. She said " Bring me home a trophy, daddy" and kissed me on the cheek. So looks like I'm going to the show after all. Wish me luck.

Noticed my master cylinder was leaking at last weekend's Dallas car show. Yay for reman parts!

Figured while the car is down waiting for a master cylinder I'd finally find my exhaust leak. This setup worked really well. Plugged the other exhaust tip.

Found the leak at the turbo to downpipe flange. I guess I need to put a gasket in there.

How does this contraption work?

Plug one side. Put the hose in the other tip air tight. Make sure the shop vac is blowing air and turn it on. If you have a leak you will hear it. I had leaks at the turbo to downpipe(warped flange on downpipe , rusted out mufflers and two pin hole leaks in the test pipe.

I didnt have any header or crossover leaks so I guess that's a plus.

I also took off the wastegate rod and manually opened for more air going into the headers.

Tried a SCE gasket on the downpipe and it leaks even worse. Going to have the flanges milled on the downpipe and turbo. I also got the new master cylinder in and replaced the brake lines from the mc to porp. valve.

They say not to use a gasket between the Dp & exhaust housing. Maybe check the "trueness" of the Dp flange?

New wheel bearing, seals, wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware, and just got my new TA cover in the mail. This is one beefy cover. I was long overdue of fixing my leaky wheel seals.

Yeah. I'm going to get the dp flange resurfaced. Good time to wrap the downpipe too. The A/C gets heatsoaked really bad in the summer. I also have a TE-60 that I'm rebuilding to install at the same time.

Put 1.5" lowering springs in the rear and feel like I need drop spindles to go with my front coilovers to lower it some more. I of course had to roll the fender lips in. I also put my TinMan cold air kit on and man....it sounds so awesome!

Took apart the free TE-60 I got. Found a broken thrust spacer, shaft is still in spec and wheels are in good condition. Ordered a rebuild kit.

Also installed a 6mm shorter belt to stop initial start up squeal. The belt isn't too tight so it shouldn't kill the alt. bearing. Part#

Pulled my GN up to the cabin. Not running right now, has a trans leak. 4 post hoist will be installed next week so I finally get to work on it the way I want to.

Finally got around to installing my QA-1 front coil overs. Now to wait for the rain to stop and roads to dry up before I take the car out to give em a try and do the final adjustments for that perfect ride height I've been looking for.

Finished rebuilding my free TE-60. I hooked up my shop vac to the turbine inlet and it seemed pretty balanced.[emoji1]

Took my T to it's first car show of the season, today. About froze my butt off, 50+ degrees with 15-20 mph wind. These cars sure like the cooler weather! The car ran great!
