What did you do to your GN today?

I also took my dash apart, thats easy. Im trying to get my tach and boost gauge out to send to Caspers, i cant see crap up there, cant even get my fat hand in there either, oh well ordered the light kit to make the dash lights brighter from kirbans so maybe wont be a total waste of time. Any tips or tricks to get that tach unplugged would be appreciated, thanks Gene.

Gene, one tip i learned from the Kirbans instructions was to drop the steering column down. (15mm deep well socket - 2 nuts) that will allow you to pull the cluster toward you more.

Tori, thanks for the tip. I will give that try tomorrow. I just need a little more room to feel around up there. It really doesn't help with a total cluster f of wires under there, its sad im so lazy just sitting around waiting for the golf season.

I installed the L E D dash lights i got from Kirbans, not a really good pic but you can get idea for sure. I can finally see my dash in the dark. Easy job, i did not get that stinking tach out to send to Caspers, like i stated earlier, im lazy

I pulled my tach/boost gauge out awhile back, don't remember it being too big of a deal. I think the hard part was unplugging it. I remember asking them what it took to get it from the dash, you might do a search to see what tricks there are. I was so stoked when i got mine back and the tach read correctly. I hate shit like that....

I picked up my car today from Paul (pacecarta), after a lot of work. I can't thank him enough. Put her away until the weather gets a little better. Here's a list of some of the things that were done over the past few months:
  • Converted from stock computer to XFI 2.05
  • Trans was rebuilt by Dave husek to his Standard Plus
  • Installed PTC 18 blade 9.5" converter with sprag
  • Installed Hayden trans cooler with fan
  • Changed Mease SLIC to RJC 315XTF
  • Changed from TE44 to 6466 from Bison
  • Changed from internal wastegate to external Turbosmart Hypergate 45
  • Changed injectors from 50lb to 83lb
  • Upgraded fuel injector harness to Racetronix with hotwire
  • Changed stock throttlebody and plenum to GN1 72mm and Precision plenum with RJC powerplate and GN1 1"spacer
  • Had all intake pipes powdercoated metal flake with red/raspberry trans
  • Changed stock radiator to Alradco
  • Changed Stock radiator hose to aluminum pipe
  • Installed Caspers Knock gauge
  • Installed driveshaft loop

Still have a few more things to do once it gets warmer and then I need to spend some time learning how to use XFI properly

Nice. I see Paul has really hooked you up.

BTW. Is that Paul sitting in the drivers seat? If so, I think he is wearing the same clothes from the last 5 times I have seen him in person.

Removed the PTE front mount intercooler, cleaned and painted the factory intercooler, flushed and remounted transmission cooler onto cross braces in front of condenser.

Pulled the motor and trans. Hopefully pressure wash the engine bay today.

Installed the stock intercooler for the final time, moved the IAT sensor back to the airfilter, blasted and painted the cruise control bracket, installed a set of AC Delco R43TS plugs, verified cam sensor position, drilled stock up-pipe for the alky nozzle, installed MAF pipe and sensor and air filter.

I'm a little behind- last Friday I dropped my trans off at Dave Splett's trans shop, so I can get this engine installed before spring!! A huge Thank you to m233roller for helping put this engine together!!
