So im getting my car back together and I have a vac line that I'm trying to figure out. It Y's off the line to the map sensor. Im pretty sure the previous owner had this orange line shoved in it and the two of them taped together. I also have a black vac line next to the orange one and they both appear to go into the car for the hvac system. Im just trying to determine if it should go back to the orange line or just blocked off and if I need the other line connected to anything.

With the car idling in park spray a bit of break clean in suspected areas. If the idle goes up you’ve located a vac leak. Or get a smoke machine, that might be a little more safe.

Carb cleaner works, too. The idle either goes up or the idle stumbles.
