‘Twas the Night Before Christmas 2017,

'Twas the night before Christmas, relaxed on my couch,

Watching "Christmas Vacation", Ellen’s Dad - such a grouch!

All comfy and warm, I began a long snooze,

And was soon sawing logs, With nothing to lose

When in front of my house, There arose such a roar,

I sprang wide awake, I ran to the door!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

But a Black Challenger Demon, its message was clear

He was revving the motor and it was so loud,

But who was it driving? Tire smoke was a cloud

Then "Ho-Ho-Ho" I heard him to say,

It was Santa out playing, With HIS toy this day!

"Let's run 'em", he laughed, "They're still filling the sleigh",

"I'll be right out front!" He then heard me say

I backed out the GN and we met at the light,

Me on the left and his Demon at right

The light was still red, No traffic around,

Our cars were trans-braked, and the noise so loud

Then yellow, now "GREEN!" And we both were away,

His car pulled the wheels, and he didn’t use spray!

He pulled me real hard, By maybe a car,

But halfway to finish, It wasn't that far

Near the line we were even, the outcome was tight!

We just couldn't tell, who won it that night.

We pulled into Meijer's and he sprang from his car,

He was chuckling and merry, His eyes like bright stars

"Thank you young man, ‘twas, a wonderful race!"

He had such happiness, there on his face

"You see all my life, I've rode in a sleigh,

But Mrs. C gave me this, a new Demon - today!"

"A good boy you have been, I've been watching, you see,

And I wanted to race, the best challenge for me"

"It was a great race, I must have to say!

And I'll be back later, but then in my sleigh!"

"So thanks for the run, the race was so tight!

And now I must go and get busy tonight!"

He waved his gloved hand, as he drove out of sight,

"Merry Christmas to All, and to all, a Good Night!"

I thought to myself as he roared away,

"I hope that he brings, A new Turbo my way!"

Merry Christmas!!!
