Turbolink says im in p/n and 4th at same time??

Where is the swith, or what tells the computer what gear im in? 87 floorshift car. Thanks

Also when I start the car and give it some gas in park sometimes the 3rd gear light comes on? So its saying the car in in p/n 3rd and 4th all at the same time?

The 3rd and 4th gear switches are in the transmission. They are pressure operated.

The park/neutral, hmm, if a floor shift I'd check there in the console. Mounted on the shifter.

Not sure, but I think park/neutral is mounted on steering column, same place as with column shift...

I had a problem where in park it would show anything. I then found out the my reverse lights were not going on when I was in reverse. There is a sensor in the steering column, the portion the moves when you shift. I had to loosen up the retaining bolt on the bar next to the transmission and adjust it so everything is aligned properly.

I also think that if it is too far off the car sees it and makes changes. I may be wrong that this.
