Congratulations to Sean Hayes, who made the long drive from Mississippi, to become 2010's first Turbo Hot Street winner.

It was evident during time trials and qualifying that we had cars very close in performance and it could be anybody's race. There were two qualifying sessions on Friday and one on Saturday. After the smoke had cleared it shook out like this:

1. Jeff Rodick from Pompano Beach, Florida was the number one qualifier with a 6.50 @ 107.92 mph. Jeff's Grand National is armed with all the good stuff; stock stroke V6 with Champion GN1 heads, 67mm non billet turbo, PTC tranny and covertor and managed by a FAST XFI. He says it can raced, driven or shown and comfortably optioned with a/c and cruise control, he wouldn't be afraid to "drive it to California".
2. Sean Hayes from Terry, Mississippi brought up the number two spot with a 7.05 during Friday's quals.
3. "JD" DiLorenzo from Englewood, Florida made the field with a 7.37 @ 94.63 mph on Saturday morning. JD might have been the number one qualifier as he and Jeff went at each other Friday with a great side-by-side pass but neither got a time as the Christmas tree was set-up wrong and no times were recorded.
4. WC Thompson from Brandenburg, Kentucky, only made one qualifying shot on Saturday and came up with an off-the-pace 8.54 @ 88.97 mph to round out the field.

First round:
Jeff Rodick dispatches WC Thompson with a strong 6.68 @ 106.72 mph to WC's 8.47 @ 87.87 mph.
Sean Hayes gets the automatic win over JD DiLorenzo when JD leaves too early.

Final:
This one could have went either way. In a great display of driving, Hayes holeshots Rodick and is able to hold on to the advantage for the win with a 6.56 @ 107.92 (?)mph to a quicker 6.52 @ 106.13 mph! Hayes later said that he thought Rodick was going to catch him on the big end as both went fender-to-fender down the track. It was a great race!

Congratulations to all the racers and THANK YOU for your participation. Thank you to Cal Hartline and Hartline Performance for sponsoring Turbo Hot Street at the Turbobuick.com Nationals.

Thank you also to Laura Buick-GMC for the goody bags and "The V8 Assassin", Adam Calcote for his generous donation that provided the beautiful trophies.

The next Turbo Hot Street event will be May 23 during the Buick Raceday in Norwalk, Ohio. See ya there!

Thanks to everyone at the event. It was a great event. I want to think Don Cruz for a great running engine and Jason White for a transmission that screamed for help as the car carried the tires. Thanks to Cal Hartline who sponsor the THS Class and who also provided the necessary tuning tools;). I had a great time.

Congratulations Sean!! In addition to the payouts, you also earned $100 contingency payout.
