Available Thrasher chip calibrations. The first 2 or 3 digits are the minimum octane requirement. Your car should have the proper fuel pressure regulator (generally a p/n "237" or an adjustable to achieve 45psi static), upgraded fuel pump, a test pipe, a 160 degree thermostat and a better-than-stock air filter setup to achieve proper performance with these chips.
Stock and Green Stripes (all run the injectors static)
92-28-K2.0 <<-- For stock fuel pressure regulators
Blue Tops/868/MSD-38pph injectors
92-35-k7ts.0 (runs injectors static)
97-35-z6t.0 (old cal - no gear dependent timing or boost)

That's a blast from the past! I loved my Thrasher chip. It was one of the first mods to my car 18 years ago.
I'm sure it is a 87 ecu, as it has the power logger attached that I use on all the 86 -87 GN's I work on. I didn't know if the chip was for a 84 or 87. But I found out it is a 87 chip. Just got back from filling the tank with gas for the first time in 10 years. Terrible dead spot at 2500 rpm I guess its time to hook up the lap top and see whats up. Thanks for the help.
Does this chip have a valet mode? security mode? Ever since I put in this ecu with this chip it cuts out at 2200 rpm. Everything below that it runs fine, but also it won't build boost. If it does, how is it disabled. I believe this chip was in my customers car before I switched it to the 60 lb alcohol chip for the maf translator 2.
One more question. Here is the part number on the chip. 92-43j21230. Does this chip have a valet mode? Since I switched to the 87 computer and the Thrasher chip it acts like valet mode above around 2200 rpm. If so, could you let me know how to turn it off? It is the only chip I have laying around for the 42 lb injectors. I need to get everything working right before I start the tuner pro install. I would love to go cruise it around for the first time in 10 years and at least be able to boost it. I want to wear the last of the tread off these old tires before throwing on the drag radials.
Well I found a 50 lb 93 oct 20 degrees of timing chip of unknown origin, and put it in. The stumble at 2200 rpm is gone. It's lean with the 42 lb injectors. Too lean to idle, but it runs clean and smooth reving it up slowly to 4000 rpm. So it doesn't like something in the thrasher chip. although with the Thrasher it starts, idles, and runs fine up to 2200 rpm. I wonder if it is a hacked chip, and somebody programed a valet mode into it. Sure acts like valet mode to me.
I'm not looking to find the perfect chip, I'm trying to find something that I have that I can use to drive the car with the injectors I have while I break in the new motor and make sure everything is in good working order before I install the tuner pro and my wideband, and start logging, and tuning. Just want to break it in. Yes I guess that is messing around, but I would just like to drive it for a few hundred miles without my laptop on the seat, and wires everywhere like it is when I start tuning. I really appreciate your help though. Looks like I'll try bumping up the fuel pressure on this 50 lb chip, and if It will idle like that I'll drive it like that. I just found an even older relic of a chip a few minutes ago in one of my 84 ecu's. It's a Kenne Bell 9004u ultimate chip from the early 90's. I have been doing this soo long I don't remember most of what I find laying around here these days. Thanks a lot for the help.
