I am putting the snail on I ran into a question;
I have everything lined up lightly tightened, and clocked so its all in line, but the w/g rod isn't close to being long enough unless unscrewed almost all the way. To make it reach and pin it down I had to pull the w/g rod out....Is that right? I thought it worked opposite so when not running the w/g should be all the way in or pushed away from exhaust.

you should barely have to pull to put the rod on the flapper. Otherwise I'd get another actuator, or lengthen the rod...

I have it unscrewed almost to where it falls off (3-4 threads on), and I had to pull it 1/2" I bet.

That's probably a little too far to pull, but I don't know. It may be ok for your setup. I'd set the boost low and see if the wastegate works, that way you don't overboost testing it.

Off the top of my head, and not seeing the setup, I'd bet you could make the wastegate actuator work for you if you messed with the mount. Maybe a small spacer where it bolts up to the compressor housing? Some washers, or something like that.
