Steer wheel resto ?

What appears to be a good product to restore the exposed metal parts of the steering wheel?
I have 2 that need TLC.. One w/ significant rust "rash" on the back side.

Once cleaned up, what can be used to simulate the orig finish??
 
I'm needing same thing. Mine is a little. Rusty on face. Not bad but not what I like. Was wondering if steel wool would do the trick then a clear coat.
 
I cleaned mine with extra fine steel wool. went with the grain on the metal. looked brand new
 
Ok. I'll do a before and after foto sequence.
I have some lo gloss metal protector from Eastwood, that I'll use. We'll see how that goes.
 
I would think scotch brite pads would work also.

I've got both.. Tried a cloth and some Wenol metal polish on 1 spoke. The Wenol worked, but the cloth doesn't get down into the base of the metal....Still see some rust.
Going to try:
Scotchbrite/Wenol
Scotch and some rust killer [A Must For Rust]
Steel wool and the above chemicals

More later........
 
I know this video won't be for everyone but he polished his spokes to a mirror finish at 1:55. I like it.
