Complete set of beautiful 25500031 Stage 2 complete heads, rockers, and port-matched 25500029 intake manifold. These were from a Busch engine that had little to no time on it. Extensive epoxy work in the ports. The heads do not appear to have been welded, but have definitely been run before being disassembled and checked by Bob Borelli. 2.105" Titanium intake valve and retainers. All rockers spin smoothly with no damage. Only issue I see is there are a few bolts missing from the rocker setup, but nothing special that can't be replaced with generic bolts. Heads were flowed and Bob's notes come with them. I am trying to get more info on the heads' origin, but make no promises. I have no idea what these are worth. $3000? Make offers! More pictures available upon request.

Those are a beautiful set of heads so please don't take what I'm going to say the wrong way. Their value is very limited in the Turbo Buick community. The problem lies in the fact that lots of guys have disassembled old Busch engines to use the short block parts and almost no Turbo guys run Stage 2 heads. I used to have them on my street car, I love them but they cost a bunch of $$ to configure. You would probably have better luck trying to sell them on RacingJunk.com to be honest.

Good Luck

I appreciate the insight. I'm not the arrogant ass who doesn't take the advice of others who know more. As I said, I know nothing about them or their value. I had planned to toss them up there too, thanks! Any reason noone uses them with turbos? I know they have a small chamber but that can be fixed, ports look great. I didn't sonic-check them, but the deck surface doesn't look too thin.

I'd say the larger factors in turbo guys not running them are the configuration cost and the fact that most Stage 2 heads were heavily ported for high RPM use. The chamber volume on yours is small and the exhaust valves would need to be replaced with a super duty type valve rather than Titanium. Most guys would opt for a stainless intake valve also. The pair you have don't appear to have been decked excessively.

In regard to the configuration you would need to modify the intake for with fuel injector bosses, fuel rails and run an elbow with a 90 mm throttle body or possibly a sheet metal intake. The other issue is headers, no one makes them although there are a few sets of used ones out there. ATR once made Stage 2 headers which were OK but not great. Joe Ellis who worked for Hooker back in the day made some nice twin turbo headers but all the sets I've seen were mild steel, most guys run 1 turbo not 2. If you decide to have headers made you'll likely spend $3k +.

Stage 2 heads have a different port layout than the production head and require a different cam. This in itself isn't huge as you'd probably be buying a custom cam. I haven't checked availability of cam cores recently but that can be a problem. With the spring pressures typically seen with Stage 2 heads running a gear drive is the best option. The problem lies in the fact that a gear drive won't fit behind the stock timing cover without heavy fabrication and modification.

Over time there have been many examples of guys running into the mid 8's or quicker with production style heads ie: Champion or TA even M&A heads going way back . The Stage 2 heads WILL make more H.P. at the end of the day but outside of some TSO guys and a few max effort race cars there isn't a demand for them. The Jessel rocker arm are probably worth more than the heads as bad as it sounds because they are much better than the T&D rocker most builders used.

Thanks Neal!

I also found the valve covers with rocker lube system and vac valve, along the stainless NA headers for the engine. Also got a second set of heads, these are NOS, unmachined, and have not been cut for shaft rockers. Will sell these new heads separately. Again, make offers...you will not insult me with a serious bid.
