Speedo gears

For those of you who have swapped to a 400 trans, what did you do for the correct speedo gears? I am building a 400 for a friends Chevelle with 3.42 gears. The drive, driven, and speedo housing, clip and bolts were all missing from the core trans. Anybody in readerland who has done the swap know what gears are needed to make the speedo accurate? The Chevelle will use 28 inch tall tires. Thanks!

I just did one for chevelle. With 3.42 gears and 28" tires the right combo would be 15/37

I do have a 15 teeth drive gear…and I have several driven gears…Let me know if I can help…
