Rebuild Finally

.090 minus .061= .029 wear, plus the wear on the crankshaft thrust surface. I had a small block Chevy years ago that was just as bad with the crank hitting the block at #1 main. I put a crank kit in it and drove it another 80,000 miles. Ballooned converter was the cause.

Thanks. Bison said I could have a converter problem as well.
 
IT won't hurt anything. it's actually a common mod. With a power plate I can't imagine it'd really make a difference either way, but I did remove mine.
 
My block is finally in the machining stage. At Richard Clark's since he's only an hour away and I think he knows these engines.
 
Got these babies yesterday. Headed to RC's this morning:finger: Can't thank Earl enough for speccing these for me. I got lucky, the order went in and things were slow so they came in about a week.

6 weeks later it's nearing completion. I've been doing the work at RC's Garage with his and Bob's supervision, help and advice. One more trip and it should be on the test stand.
