Rant on veggie's

Guess I should start taking pointers from the Amish. Being self sufficient is key! Growing there own veggie's, potatoes, ... and produce their own dairy/meat.
You don't have to worry about the Chinese or Mexican's pissing on your veggie's either.

Let me ride that donkey donkey, let me ride that donkey.

Don't be worried. The same Mexicans pick the produce grown here (and most likely an illegal paid under the table)and pisses on it just like whats grown south of the border. When the American consumer wants to start paying higher prices this could stop but I don't see that happening. Look at Wal marts growth in the last 2 decades. People want cheap. Country of origin means little to them if it's a lot cheaper.

I have been in the food industry (restaurant) all my life. You guys would be amazed with the shit they sell today.

Immitation cheese
Immitation Lard
Liquid Eggs
Veggies from China
Fish farmed in China (chemicals used to make fish grow bigger and faster)
the list goes on and on

I'd guess 80% of everything i see cones out of hunts point NY. The same place almost every big retailer gets theirs in the tri state area. That's a huge market right in the ghetto. Not too nice outside the fence.

It's funny you say that because even here in socialist Australia (I'm an American btw) all the produce comes from Australia EXCEPT for Oranges (California) and Asparagus (Mexico). As far as all the other items in the local grocery stores, they mostly (like 90%) are made in Australia. Not only that, but it is like a workers paradise over here. This is the only place I've ever been where you can live the American dream, working an honest day's work for and honest day's pay. How's capitalism working out for you right now?

P.S.: Unions might have a little too much power I admit, but it keeps economic growth in check.

Capitalism works great for smart people who are aggressive and want to make a lot of money. If you make smart decisions and work hard you have the world by the balls here. The problem is most Americans think a 40hr work week is enough. It may be enough or more than enough for some but you can't consider it till you have a lot of momentum and are make smart business choices most of the time. An honest days pay to one isn't the same as an honest days pay to another. The aggressive one may have a lousy week or month but will offset it by working a little more instead of sitting back and scratching their ass waiting for the economy to improve. Imo you're a little confused about the American dream.
