Question on 2004r

I have a brand new 2004r and am setting up the TV cable. This is going in a V8 car so its DIY TV cable install. Any way, I drained the pan and flipped the tranny over on an engine stand and pulled the pan off so I could see the plunger and check the operation. After about 10 minutes fluid started to come out of the front where the shaft comes out. Is this normal?

Yes. Without a converter in there, there's no seal. With it upside down, fluid's going to drain into the pump from the valvebody and out that giant hole.

Thanks - that was the answer I was hoping for! I thought that would be the return from the TC.
