overboost / popping under heavy throttle

That’s 11.7 ft/lbs so go easy and don’t over torque them

be sure the gears spin easily. They should have 0.002”- 0.0025” for optimum performance.
Use plastigage or other digital dial indicator to verify.
Don’t forget to pack the gears with petroleum jelly or you’ll probably have difficulty getting the pump to prime before you start the engine
 
And it's very possible that you may to have to buy a shim kit, if you can't get the correct tolerance as indicated above. Just something to think about. Good luck!
 
My timing cover is installed so it’s plastigage or I have another plate that I was going to drill a hole where the drive gear is located and and installed it with a gasket by pushing up on the gear till it hits the top of the cavity take a reading and subtract the plate and the gasket that would give me the clearance .
