The fifth pic in the first post, is that a seal protector?
Looking like you make good progress. I have to find me a holder for my engine stand.
Keep up the good work.

it is the low reverse installation tool.

I see now. Mine is metal. That must be the black plastic one.
Same pic, is that where the feed hole is on the l/r support. Looks "gummed" up.
Thanks for answering my silly questions.

I like that Phillips screw driver to line up the pump. I'm gonna use that.
I have been fooling with my valve body too. Do you use a kit? I think I'm going to get hold of Mr Husek and take him up on a brf tv valve and just might spring for a trans go kit.

Lookin good!

That is a nice workbench. What are you using for the metal top. Just a piece of sheet metal, how thick? Is it heavy I see it has a chipboard backer.

Also, is that a red over drive clutch? Alto? Do you cut the piston for three or just use the stick two?

Thanks.

Over drive clutch is whatever I have on hand. I don't pay extra for Alto stuff. I spend $$ on the carbon band that Dave and Lonnie sell. 3 friction setup in over drive.

Bench is good ol fashion aluminum flashing from Lowes's stapled to OSH. I gets beat up rip it off and start over.:). I have the same setup on other side of the shop (engine side) and it needs to be replaced only after 4 years.

Nice. I'm gonna try that out too. Your pix are full of helpful tech.

How do you cut your apply for three o/d clutches and surface your drum for the wide band? I'm going to try these things the next go round. Seems one needs a lathe. I was thinking I might rig up something on my drill press but it might be easier to just get it done somewhere.

Thanks for the pix, you certainly keep it clean.

I don't have s lathe but I do have a friend that does.

Here's the wrap up. Both units are done. Got one installed in t type. To wet to drive...its been raining almost a week. I did shift on the lift so that's promising. Here are the pics.

It's got about 100 miles on it now. Tonite I dropped the valvebody for a few tweaks after consulting with Dave Husek. Trans works like a million dollars now:) Very happy with end product. Very tame solid quick shifts down low. They firm as throttle is applied. Engine is not ready for WOT yet but I will get there soon enough.

Slides into to support. Fingers come out and grab the bottom. After installing turn the handle and it releases and tool is removed.
