OIl pan removal with front main studs

So my engine has main studs in the front and I cannot get the pan off as it will not clear the flywheel and the front studs.

Is my best best to unbolt the engine mounts and get more lift on the motor or is there a better way?

Thanks.

Double check the pan isn't hitting the forward counterweight on the crank as there should be enough clearance unless you have a girdle. Otherwise you'll have to pull the thru bolts out of the motor mounts and jack the engine slightly to gain clearance.

Make sure your counterweights are swung up out of the way like mentioned above. IT can come out.

I have taken the pan out with main studs many times. Watch that counterweight as has been suggested. If your motor mounts are worn that might make it hard. I ended up putting Poly motor mounts which makes the pan practically fall out now.

I was able to jack the motor up after loosing the transmission mount and it came right out.

thanks.
