Welded an oil drain fitting into the pan on the 4.1 '
Is about .250 away from the frame is that too close?

What motor mounts? I would probably fix it and get more clearance. With hr motor mounts it might be stiff enough not to move.

Is it me, or is that drain flat? When I did mine, I angled mine up so I could tack it to the lip on the pan rail. it's tight putting the nut on but it's no where near the frame and continues downhill. As you know it's tight down there clearing the motor mount bolt, oil pump and exhaust

That is not how I would have welded it, so I am less than happy right now. It was hard to estimate though with the engine on the stand.

That looks more gooder (except for that short part that's not inclined). With that setup you can tighten it a hair if you need to clear the motor mount bolt.

Motor mount bolt is clear and easy. Now the one corner pan bolt is another story....
But thanks guys I was trying to convince myself it was ok, I needed the "intervention"
