NOS GM cam sensor cap still available?

I just checked ebay for the Tomco 22008 cap that I saw for sale, but it sold. The only other cap is the Caspers cap. The only other way to get a cap is to buy the whole sensor. There's one on ebay. I think Standard still offers the whole sensor.
My bad, I bought that one on eBay last night, couldn't pass up on the price.

I had a cap fail that was intermittent, it would throw a code then after 15 minutes it would run fine. If you make sure the reluctor wheel hasn't moved you can replace just the cap instead of paying that money for the sensor and gear. Find a known good one from a member here and go from there.

Crank sensor for 11 bucks on Amazon working awesome for over a year for me.

just wanted to put out there that I have a (limited) supply of NOS OE cam sensor caps. $190 shipped - each. that's a happy median between HighwayStars price when when the part was available and JEGS pricing at $219.

There was only one company - Magnavox - that made the cam sensor cap and drive assembly. They were manufactured in the US until the mid-90s, think NAFTA. Then production was shifted to Mexico where the additional ink-stamped text "ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO" was added below the date code on the drive unit's shaft.

In any case, these parts were then packaged into whomever's packaging, as long as the minimum purchase quantity was met. Kirban discussed this in an InnerCircle newsletter of his in 2012.

The same OE part was packaged for GM, ACDelco, Standard Motor Products, Wells, Borg Warner, Napa Echlin (now owned by Standard), and the private label brands for the brick and mortar auto parts stores like Autozone, Advance, O'Reilly's, and CarQuest. Highway stars had the caps in a Walker branded box until they were no longer available.

Magnavox ceased production around late 2006 or early 2007. Kirban noted in November 2007 that sources for camshaft sensors were drying up.

JEG's sold the OE cap for $218.99 (until no longer available) in the same Walker packaging as HighwayStars sold the part (again, until no longer available). It's been out of JEGS system for many years now.
