Need the drill bit in the measurements for the return line into the block for the 86/87

Drill with 23/32" drill bit and tap with a 1/2 NPT tap. If you are buying a tap, buy a skip tooth pipe tap. They work better than the standard hardware store pipe taps. Use lots of lube......gear oil works good when tapping cast iron.

I usually do this on a Bridgeport mill....... but it can be done on a big drill press or even freehand if you are careful.

I use the skip tooth and believe it or not a 1/2 drive impact with an 8 point socket to run the tap through. Its easier to start the the tap straight with the impact. Forget it with a tap handle

and don't worry about finding the exact drill size. If you have one a little smaller or a little bigger you can get away with it since it's a tapered thread.

Do you have a solid gameplan for keeping all the shavings out of the inside of the engine?
