Need Help With Slicks

Never run slicks before and need suggestions, recommendations.

Want to run an 8" rim with either a 9" or a 10" slick, 28" tall.

1. What brand slicks do you guys like best?
2. What should the backspace be for the 8" rim?
3. Looking at my combination posted below, what do you think would be the best size slick that would fit under my GN?
4. Screws and tubes? Yes or no?

Thanks in advance!

I would do a 4" backspace with the 8" rim, should tuck in nice. I'd go for the 28x10's, I've had good luck Mickey Thompson's.

I would go with screws back and front of rim, I've never ran tubes with any of my cars.

I've only ran 28x9 m/t on a 8" wheel with 4.5 bs. It's as much as I could fit without rolling the fenders.

I run the MT 28x9 slick on the stock GN rim. Clears the frame and fender lips with ease.

Hi; I used the 9" Goodyear radial slick on my GN and had good results. These were used tires that I had run in stock elim on a 69 Camaro. All of the stockers used radials back then, you can blow them up big, I used 15-18 #s and you don't use tubes. Also the radial does not "grow" as your speed increases like a regular slick, so there is no effect on the rear gear. Downside is they are pricey$$.
