Anyone know a mechanic, Turbo Regal specialist, or forum member that would be willing come meet me to check out a car in Gorham, Maine? Its about a half hour west of Portland, ME. Id throw the person some cash to make it worth it. Let me know. Thanks.

hey Mike , I am from that area (commute through Gorham daily) but short of knowing the rust prone areas on g bodies and basic car buying ( I have bought/sold hundreds over the years) I would not qualify myself as a turbo regal specialist but there is a guy I know in Gorham that is an appraiser , has owned a body shop there in town since I was a teenager at least ( I am 50) and has also sold and brokered muscle cars that whole time - I am sure there has been a turbo regal or 3 in his inventory over the years - maybe you could get him to do an appraisal on it for you ? Wyman's auto body , Joe Wyman is his name.

Awesome, thanks for the info, ill look into it and see how much he wants for an appraisal. Never done an auto appraisal before, what exactly would he tell me/give me? And i really don't need a mechanic just need someone to tell me if its a good car before i make a 6hr trip. If you'd be willing to stop there one day on your way through let me know and ill ask the seller if it would be ok. My cell is 6319422987. Text me if you'd be willing to do that. Thanks again man.

Joe Wyman owned the only GNX that was sold in Maine. I wish I was closer. I would take a look at it with you. Do you know the seller's name? I am originally from Maine.

Thats great to hear i will def give him a call! Scott Pusey is the sellers name. Hes had it for 10 years. Not sure if hes a forum guy or not.

if the seller is ok with it sure I can be your initial car looks worth looking into deeper or not guy. Joe does appraisals but I would ask more for an evaluation. There is a GN in Gorham that has been for sale off and on on route 25 at a small car dealership less than a mile from my daughters house , looks good going by at 60 lol .

That would be awesome man. And i might wanna take a drive past that one too and check it out quick while I'm up there. Do you have a cell number that you text message on? Pm me or text me and well try to set something up with the seller. And what day/days would work best for you this week. Thanks.

Contacted Joe Wyman, he said he doesn't do appraisals or evals anymore and doesn't come out to look at cars. But he said i can swing it by his shop next saturday and hell take a quick look at it. Guess its better than nothing. He didn't wanna put it on the lift or anything, said something about conflict of interest.

I could be wrong but I think Richard Clark bought his sub 10 mile gnx from Maine

Joe's had more miles than 10. I could be wrong there may have been another/more GNX s sold in Maine.

good luck with this today let me know if you need anything .

Thanks man, didnt end up working out. Car was bogging and 1st to 2nd gear felt wrong. Really lacking acceleration, running a little rough, and a pretty significant oil leak and slight trans leak. Not worth $13k to me. May be stopping to see another in CT on the way down.
