1. What is the # of the oem driver/transitor?

2. Why is it so difficult? I ve heard that other transitors just are not available to do it? all discountinued? What is so hard to match?

3. What gets hurt if you use the wrong transitor?

4. What are the specifics of the oem transitor? and how close does a replacement need to be?

It's a GM spec part, and not available to the public.
To do correctly for peak and holds means using current sensing, and as far as I know they've been very difficult to get for years.
You can overheat the PCB traces, and have lots of failures.
In order to run P+Hs means some EE work, ie figuring out the driver to use, and current sense strategy and/or the particulars.

For the time effort and money I found it cheap just to let Bailey do the mods for me.
BTW, melted ECMs smell really bad. And if it happens in traffic the car just stops.
So if your serious about trying, first design an ECM bench for testing, then worry about the redesign work.
