Looking for suggestions, from regular users....I had a lincoln 175 but not sure if I should just replace it.....Family member took it, and it doesn t look good on getting it back soon.....

I don t use a tig very often but it looks like I will more in the near future.....on aluminum.....primarily and then on my own chromemoly chassis work.....

So in the 1500 to 2000 area what would you choose....

I'd look into ESAB they make the multimaster 160 and 260 that do MIG, TIG, and stick welding. They are around $1500 and $200 respectivly. They also have a great warranty and are a top of the line welder, beating Miller specs for a better price.

Look here for some info and prices. http://cyberweld.com/esabwelders.html under the multi process welders.

For what it's worth - We use nothing but Millers in our body shop (high production). I don't know a body shop that doesn't use Millers.
Never had a problem and haven't had one fail yet...That says alot considering how much they are used.
