For the 200 it’s not a super complicated install . Just follow the direction and you have to have some Basic tools . Now the bump box is also a easy install just wiring up a control box to the trans brake . It will pulse the brake off and on super fast . I’m running one that is built into my boots leash boost control that I really like and have had no issue with it .Any info on bump boxes and what is involved in installing an electronic trans-brake? You can save the gay jokes for the GS Nationals on the 23rd -26th....
Can you make me one if I pay you for it? A bump box along with trans brake? I will bring the car to you.. If you are not busy at the GS Nationals due to any number of issues that may arise, I would have the tools there and the $ to pay you as well. For the 200 it’s not a super complicated install . A boost leash with bump box is right at 760 it went up a lot from when I purchased mine https://www.leashelectronics.com/Boost-Leash-Pulse-Leash-combo-unit-BLPL.htmCan you make me one if I pay you for it? I am planning to bring my Comp Cam980-12 Valve springs and fel-pro gaskets as well if anyone knows how to install valve springs. I already have 24 brand new keepers as well because some folks tend to loose them. I also have this handy tool for your use. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...2pkVrihu4ZyRn-Ar5hsX5bOOsuaLdvHxoCV8YQAvD_BwE
I saw a girl change all the valve springs in a V8 in like 20 min. with this tool. I will have it with me at the GS Nationals. Anyone that gets some bad luck in the races and wants to earn some cash, I need this stuff done. Thanks
Actually, you make a wonderful point to everyone interested in preserving what most of us consider one of the finest specimens of early intuitive Buick innovation. saying "****YOU to those in the GM world that said "you beat the Corvette and watch what happens" ???lol I would slow your roll if you have a stock 109 with valve springs that need replaced. I am also assuming you have a stock drivetrain? First of all do you realize how much shit you will break in a stock drivetrain with a trans brake and how dangerous it can be it?
My advice if your car is mostly stock is to look at the gnttype.org recipe
https://www.gnttype.org/techarea/recipes/Staged1.html follow it with attention to detail and basics.
Ohh" That's cool. I'' see if I can get my 2step footbrake combo to be consitantWhere are u located? I’m in Socal and truthfully I believe you should focus on other maintenance before u do a trans brake as there are plenty of ppl running fast as F**K on the foot brake
Yes if you follow that recipe you can get in the 10's and the original was written in the early 90's. While some tech has changed the process has not and the recipe works. Also learn how to work on your car, if you want it to preform well and don't have an unlimited budget you will need to know how to do this stuff, like changing VS. Youtube is fantastic and didn't exist when many of us starting messing with these cars in the 80's, there is also ton of info on this board and many willing to help, and for free!
In case you are wondering, IMO the minimum you should have for a TB is a driveshaft loop along with a complete CM or 3.5" alum DS with 1350 u-joints and billet yokes for the trans and reared, C-clip elims, at LEAST 30 (33's would be safer) spline axles and a spool would be a really good idea. In other-words it is an expensive upgrade and will require you to upgrade your entire chassis and drive train for it to work right.
That tool is no good for the Buick head layout. People use the shaft mounted home made one or the screw clamp style. Can you make me one if I pay you for it? A bump box along with trans brake? Well that sucks. Oh well. guess I have to go the old route..That tool is no good for the Buick head layout. People use the shaft mounted home made one or the screw clamp style.
Stock turbo and a 2800 I think.how big of a Turbo are you running ?what convertor ?
Im not really trying to compete persay. Just running down the track for fun. I would expect more like 15s instead of 10s.lol I would slow your roll if you have a stock 109 with valve springs that need replaced. I am also assuming you have a stock drivetrain? Thanks Dank. Looks pretty nice. Will have to wait till after BG though. Still getting alky and A/F dialed in. The guy that welded the bung on the down pipe did a decent job but not real pretty...A boost leash with bump box is right at 760 it went up a lot from when I purchased mine https://www.leashelectronics.com/Boost-Leash-Pulse-Leash-combo-unit-BLPL.htm
Damn! that looks a lot smother than anything I have seen out there.. I cant wait to start amassing some of this stuff for when I get the car gone through from ass end to front end. I wish I had already got the car out to Steve but time is at such a premium right now. I way actually take a trip up to the est coast in a couple of months or so and drop it off with him. I do like me some of that smooth Stage box!! Thanks BB! for the info and I will be bookmarking his website for the near future..this guy is sponsoring Turbo Pro Bracket

Do I have to have a trans-brake for these types of things? The trans-brake will come after the new staged trans and diff down the road.. I really just want to have help getting a good stage, some would say deep staged I think. Im just a bit worried my foot will slip off the brake or something and I will break the second beam. I will need all the help I can get since it will be my first time ever trying to stage and launch. I know in a couple of years all these questions will sound stupid to me once I learn how this all works, but for now, I just want to try and do well and not just sitting on the line for 5 minutes while Mr. Nitros says I am intentionally burning him down or just plain ole red lighting because I am shi**ing myself due to the excitement. Bringing extra underwear BTW. I guess I will have a little time to figure some of this out during test and tune.... Needless to say, I will for sure need some folks that don't mind coaching me a bit.. Unless you Sceard of loosing when I smoke you with the Black Blur! Unless that name is taken already,, Then When I smoke you with Ole Black Betty! I am almost certain that name was taken in the late 80s.. Flam da Lam... Well the wife keeps asking what I am going to name the car... Purchased it a year ago so I guess BG will be a good place to come up with a name.. You no name you ca life sava, you name you ca shithead.. For the Steve Martin fans....yea you can get a smart launch for 100 bucks basicly a timer .im going with something a little better for 150 more and someone that is supporting racers . on smooth stage facebook page there is a video showing the process of amking these its not just a digital timer

if your sig is right you have alot of things to upgrade before before a transbrake should even be considered stock 200s dont like modded buicks and fyi the transbrake is not needed if the car is properly setup.Any info on bump boxes and what is involved in installing an electronic trans-brake?
