1) What is hex size??

2) Any recommendations as to where to get an AC Delco replacement??

Thanks, Bob K

Close, but I believe the torque is 14 Ft-Lbs not in-lbs.

As much as I appreciate your input I don't think 14 ft lbs is correct. I see that is what the chart says but I think the chart is in error. This is only a 1/4" Pipe thread, and it is probably coated with VibraSeal 516 which makes it very slippery...I think 14 ft lbs will bottom it out 14 in lbs sounds much more "in the ball park"...

I can appreciate your skepticism.

When I installed the knock sensor in my new build, I wanted to make double sure after I cracked a block due to detonation from a knock sensor not torqued down enough and didn't hear the damage that was occurring.
In addition to the link above, here is another:
http://www.turbobuicks.com/resources/TurboBuicks.com_Torque_Spec.pdf Note, it also lists other measurements (valve covers, and other covers) that are in in-lb.

14 inch-lb is very light torque.

I torqued down my current knock sensor to 14 ft-lb and checked it 3 times! :) Has been fine.

Another post I saved in my archive that might help:
https://www.turbobuick.com/threads/another-knock-sensor-question.422866/

It even has a picture of the page from the service manual with the spec.

Your research and empirical experience convince me ...14ft-lbs. Thanks for taking the time to correct me... I'm gonna make you my "go-to" guy...I like it when a guy searches for accurate info...and being able to find later it is even more impressive :) Thanks again. Bob
