Can someone help me out here, I am in the process of installing a KB oil booster plate and the directions are a bit vague. I layed the oil booster plate on the housing and scribed the oil inlet passage onto the housing. What I am concerned with is the grinding of the slot in the housing, the instructions read "Grind out a 1/2" to 5/8" wide slot as shown (relief passage) Approx the same depth as the housing floor." The the oil inlet passage is only about 1/2" long, so am I grinding a spot 1/2" wide back? The picture shows a slot that isn't the same length as the whole inlet passage. Understand what I mean? Or are they talking 1/2" from the edge of the oil inlet scribe to the pump housing opening?
