Ok my fellow Buick friends I usually don't post fairly new to the Buick board but have been involved with my grand national for quite some time decided I wanted a legal 9 2nd street car so the work begun here is my combo ta stroker motor 274 cubes coming from Nick micale real soon [emoji6] fully ported ta aluminum heads. ,230-230 solid roller. 6870 precision turbo. three and a half inch downpipe with external wastegate. front mount intercooler. turbo 400 with trans brake and 17 blade PTC converter. fast xfi with egt probes per cylinder racetronix dual fuel pumps for a 85 with 160 injectors Teflon fuel lines dual feed champion rails .so the question I have is what is it going to be on the Dyno let's say 25 pounds .and what well it do at the strip tuning will be done by Cal Hartline here are some pictures of the things that have

Looks great!

Would love to see boost/back pressure data for that turbo charger when you dyno it.

I have been wondering about that back pressure

nice turbo the 6870 3 bolt but kind of wish I would have gone 4 bolt

My buddy runs one on a nice stage II motor. It runs 2:1 back:boost everywhere.

I have a friend who runs one on his Mitsubishi Eclipse runs with mid to low 8s 4 bolt though

2:1 Everywhere? What exhaust is on the car? I have customers running that turbo over 35 psi without going over 2:1

See post number 86 here:

He's very distraught about it. I'll see if I can find out exactly what he has for exhaust, but I'm fairly certain he has ATR style headers, 3.5" dowm pipe with an external style gate, and GN1 dual 3" exhaust system. Intercooler is an RJC 3.75".

He's contemplating going to a 4 bolt. But there is some doubt that there will be a substantial backpressure reduction since the existing data shows that the combo is currently running 2:1 even when boost is quite low. Concerned that a 4 bolt conversion would cost a lot and yield little, at least at his power output.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated Cal, thanks in advance!

I'm very interested in the fact that he can run 35 pounds and stay below 2:1 .could you please tell me more about his combo Cal

It doesn't make sense to have the backpressure ratio stay the same regardless of boost. If that's the case, keep turning it up. LOL! I'll take 40psi@80 backpressure. Should be good for mid 8's :)
Richie doesn't go over 2:1 running deep in the 8's in TSM trim

decided to make more room under the hood especially since I'm running a solid roller camshaft make it a lot easier to take the valve cover off so I installed the AC delete only heat. I'm not going to lie to you it was a b**** and very dirty[emoji40]
