Idler Pulley Bearing

Purchased an idler pulley bearing from the Zone as mine is squealing like a pig.

P/N for the Idler Pulley/Alternator bearing from the Zone is 203FF. It is a sealed bearing.

I came home to find out they gave me 203F which is an open ball bearing.

Should I return and get sealed bearing or can i run the open bearing? Only thing I can think of is the lube seeping out.

Tango Mike.

Past experience in industrial applications, sealed is the way to go. Too much chance of getting debris in open bearings unless they're inside a casing with supplied lubrication.

Definitely too much of a chance for dirt to contaminate the bearings and for it to run dry. Driving back to the Zone time meow.

Lube seeping out won't be your main problem, grit getting in will destroy it in short order. Don't install that bearing.
