Holley HP Install

Did a Holley HP install on a 60K mile T that was basically stock. He was having driveability issues and some electrical issues within the factory harness.
Kyle is planning more upgrades down the road so we started out with the Holley kit, Holley injectors, Holley smart coils and a vacuum relocation kit to clean up the top of the motor.

First job is to remove the factory harness, this required loosening the passenger side fender well. It's a tough job to get the bottom two bolts, but the lowest one was missing, so we got lucky.

Removed factory relay bracket, we will re-use the map sensor later

From underneath, there is one bolt on outer fenderwell and the large fender washer bolt closer to engine

Then you can see the metal retainer for the factory bulkhead
Remove that and the two gold metal clips up higher on the ac box

Unhook harness from sensors and everything else , this includes top bolts on valve covers that hold the plastic wiring guard
Took two of us under an hour to get harness out

Removed ignition module and coilpack. Bracket and brace as well, they were not reused.

First thing to do before installing the Holley system is to re-set the cam sensor.
Rotate motor to TDC and set balancer at 0 in timing tab.
We used a 14.5 inch piece of duct tape to find 240 degrees on the stock balancer.
One edge of tape on 0 mark on balancer, the next edge, with tape going clockwise will be 240 degrees
Then marked the spot at the edge of the tape, that is the mark we want to be in the 0 spot on the timing tab when we set the sensor.

Slot in cam sensor wheel should point towards drivers side headlight before it's dropped in, then rotate towards front of car when it engages
Final position is facing forward

Then set cap with Casper's tool

Then we started installing the harness, it will route different than stock, and all leads are cut to length.
This is included with the kit to help

New harness has two grounds that attach to back of heads, one for each side
Coil hotwire kit has two hot leads and two grounds that go directly to battery, this is in addition to the ecu power which goes directly to battery

We installed a Holley transducer on the end of the fuel rail for the fuel pressure monitoring

Installed relays for coil hotwire kit on the firewall and installed coils on our billet brackets

Add the headlight harness plug to the c100 connector that comes with this harness and plug into factory fuse box bulkhead

This car had a factory fan, so we made a hotwire adaptor relay harness for it. Terminals B and C on the factory fan plug bypass the low speed resistor and allow the fan to run high speed all the time.
Pink lead from new harness triggers the relay.

ALWAYS KEEP WIDEBAND UNPLUGGED UNTIL TUNE IS LOADED INTO ECU!
Holley uses either NTK or Bosch wideband which must be configured in the software. Load tune then plug in WB

This was first startup, first time cranking it over

I've been away from this website for awhile, so probably missed hearing about server issues...still got to ask, what happened to the pictures?

Search feature is also pretty bad now - I tried searching Holley EFI, ECU, etc. and got "no results" Had to use external Google search with "site:TurboBuick,com" to find this thread. Looking for information and comparisons on Holley EFI (Cruz package), TurboTweak ECU using stock harness, and FAST XFI. Winter engine rebuild project with goal of 10's for pump gas and AlkyControl (currently have this)

No idea what happened to the pics. They’ve been gone a while. I haven’t seen a side by side comparison on all three done. I’m sure a few people, myself included, have experience with all three tho.
