I am taking apart the dash on my 1980 regal, and am wondering what the easiest way to get the headlight switch to come off is. I know there is a release pin, but I cant seem to find it

Use a pair of long tip pliers to hold the light switch shaft.now rock the switch knob up and down well pulling it off. This use to work for me.

That will allow you to take the knob off.then the trim. Push the switch out the back.

There's no easy way to do it. I had to sue a socket with a swivel and extension to take the screws out and remove the switch with the cover. Real PITA.

So after fighting with it two different times and nothing working, we used a 90 degree pick and poked it in behind. Then the knob came right off. Turns out there's a metal clip in behind the knob that releases it. Now struggling with the gauge cluster. But will make another post about that
