Great stupid Junkyard find

Well I was looking at the Junkyard today for tires that would fit on my 1991 ford escort. It's a car that I don't care about, so if I can find a good tire at the Junkyard for $15 I'm gonna buy it. Well I kinda got sidetracked (like I always do), and I was in the GM section looking for G body cars when I stumbled on THIS masterpiece! :D This is some late 70s, early 80s buick riviera. The engine and trans were gone so I think that this car at one time had a good small block chevy in it or something, but Ooohhhhh with that cowl hood it was the perfect ghetto hotrod. I saw the cowl hood and just said to myself, --- "...I MUST have this" so I promptly took the hood off the car, convinced 2 other people I had met in the Junkyard to help me carry it. I paid only $30 dollars for this wonderful fiberglass hoodscoop. I then strapped it to the roof of my escort with seat belts I had cut out of other cars, and drove home extremely slowly. I found that I had gone to the Junkyard to get tires that I NEEDED, and left with a cowl hood that goes with a kind of buick I don't even have... today was a good day.

Thank you very much. This just goes to show that you can STILL find some cool stuff out there if you look and if you're lucky enough ;)

I actually found a gn rim on a 80s Malibu but unfortunately it was rotted bad. Not a score but amazing what you find. Nice find

Heck I found a set danko's bumper fillers on the 84 regal that had no rust on it. Grab the doors and bumper also. Just weird what you may fined

I found a pretty nice header panel off a normal regal, do you think that's worth grabbing?

The original header on my GN has not fared well over the years and has some cracks in it--I was able to pick up a spare off of a theft recovery T-Type some years back and plan on changing it soon. I've heard that the reproduction header panels do not fit anywhere near as good as the original ones. Never know when you might need it.

Check the rear end when you go back should be a 8.5"

I was wandering around last year and found a real carbon fiber hood for a Honda Civic. Online new price was $599. Paid $65 w/ core and sold it on eBay in a week for $300. The guy drove 5 hours to come get it we swapped it onto his car and he left his old hood with me.

Nice find!!!

I guy I met 8-10 years ago had a '79 Lesabre Turbo car that looks a lot like your find.

I was at the local yard today and found a mostly original 1965 lesabre with the original 355 still in it. Owner of the yard said its been in a back building for past 20+ years. He quoted me a price(good price) I might go back and grab it to flip. Shoulda grabbed a couple pics while I was there. Trying to find out about what it might be worth now.

BTW - I was looking for a power seat track for my car.
