Just dropped off the car to Jim Dunn for the heads, cam, etc project. Most of the parts were spec'd and supplied by Bison so I'm lucky that two really great guys have a hand in this.

I'll update this thread with progress.

Nothing like a two body trunk.

I just noticed your in S Jersey?

Where is Dunns shop?

Where are you actually?

I'm in Franklinville. Quite a few TRs in this area.

Jim Dunn is in Secane, PA near Prospect Park and he is fantastic. Your car comes back perfectly done and cleaner than when it went there.

Between NY, CT, NJ, PA and MD, we have some amazing GN gurus to work with.

Where are you?

Thats cool.

I'm about 5 min. west of six flags, Cream Ridge.

I haven't been on here in many years and am trying to get back into working on my car. Lost the engine in a fire, collecting parts now to try to get it going again.

Good luck with all your upgrades, gonna rip!

Paulie, pacecarta, is near you if you ever need a hand. He's great too.

Come to a MAGNA meet one of these days when you get it running.

Yeah, your right, Pacecar is close, I met him years ago when I was looking for some parts.

I'll be going back to him soon to see if he has any other parts I can use.

Will do. I went to Kirbans....without my car. lol!

Congrats on the parts and the surgery!! Gonna be a whole new car when she comes back! Y’all are definitely in the Turbo Buick Mecca Area!!

Thanks everyone.

Having a head gasket debate with myself now. I bought cometics to go with the champion ported iron heads but I have a stock block which is not being touched yet.

I'm told that sometimes the cometics will leak and seep because the stock block doesn't have the surface smoothness that the heads have. Not ready to machine the block at this time.

I'm now also hearing that a head gasket like the factory felpro would be a better fuse than the cometics and might be a safer way to go...

Any advice?

Did you ask Jim for HG suggestions?

That's the way I would go........

Yes, he prefers the "fuse" strategy with Felpros but he is calling Cometic tomorrow to see what they say for this combo.

Well then, there you have it.

A builder of his experience and qualifications.......... that's who I would listen to.

Thats already a nice engine!

Interesting boom on that engine hoist? Never saw one slide on from the outside.
