i bought an ECM made for an 86 Lesabre, is this the same part as the one in the buick? just with a different chip? the harness's match up.

i have these numbers

164cw69b3g1471093

r00041398

i just pulled apart two lasabres with 3.8s , one an 86 and one 87 ,
the 86 ecm didnt match up (1227783)not sure if it would work ,but the one from the 87 did (1227148). as far as i know the coilpack asm although they are delcos will work in place of the magnavox units , some of the relays match like a/c compressor , the FPR is the same" 233" and the vac hose for it, clips for injectors, egr cover , and i think the iac and the TPS are same , the egr sol and enmmmission canister solenoid looks the same but had different part # , i did find a suitable1/4" vacuum check valve to replace mine on the rear of the washer bucket of the 87s

Hi All. Resurrecting this old old old thread as my web search brought this up. Has anyone been able to determine if the ECU 1227783 (88999147) is a compatible replacement for the original ECU 1227148 (88999137)? Based on this link, it makes me think it is. Just swap the chips with the ones from the turbo V6 and should be good. https://pcmhacking.net/ludis/c3xref.html. If you scroll down just a bit, you'll see a line where it lists both the 1227148 and 1227783 together.
Stay safe and healthy.
Thanks.

The '7148 and the '7783 ECMs are the same hardware. But the masked ROM is different. This ROM is in two large chips that are soldered to the board.

So they are not directly interchangeable.

Thank you. I was literally just about to reply with a similar response to my post as I just found this out as well from an ECM vendor.

@89tta636 - sending a PM - found you an ECM that's supposed to be from a 41K mi TTA - if that's what you're looking for. also, a tool to find who has hundreds of 1227148 ecms.
