First data log with wideband chip

This is my first data log since upgrading to Eric's 6.1 wideband chip and installing a Lorenz racing manual boost controller. Previously I was running his 5.7 chip and still using the factory wastegate solenoid. Wastegate rod is set at 1/8 inch pull to hook on. I hit 25 lbs of boost and wasn't even full throttle according to TPS. Fuel pressure looks good and zero knock. Is AFR to rich or is good? Alky knob is set at 6. Just wondering if I should leave boost alone or what. For the manual boost controller do I leave the wastegate rod alone and just slowly increase until I start to see knock? Really wanting to get this dialed in for when the tracks finally open. Please any help for someone who has used a similar setup for awhile your experience is greatly appreciated.

End of the run is showing 8.7. NB is checking in at 784. You're only at half throttle. Keep in mind the WB tracking kicks in about 70% throttle. I'd back the boost down, as I'd be a tad scared what the AF would be at WOT and what the boost level might go to. I used an internally gated down pipe with no boost controller...you need to get input from someone for your setup. Creep up on what you're trying to do...don't try and take it in one bite. Make sure you picked the correct WB and it's calibrated correctly.

Wideband is a PLX and chip is made for this wideband. Plx wideband does not need calibration.

It just so happens you are holding the throttle at a point that is in between two different fuel modes, so the AFR is a bit unstable there.

Try to get it set up so you can make a full throttle run, but make sure it doesn't overboost.

you say you have a PLX but your config page shows LC-1 for wideband selected? have you set up all the parameters in the config section correctly, is you throttle position sensor set correctly to show .42 (aprox) with key on motor off, and 4.8 (aprox) full throttle? good thing is no KR. not sure if the config page comes across when loading a dat file, so you may have it correct, just do not see it here

I will have to double check when I get home but I could of sworn I had the PLX selected in the config page.

I checked today and yes PLX is selected in wideband input. I will try to make another pull and hit wot. Might be a few days though because we are showing rain the next few days.

I took the car out again today and made another pull but forgot to save file. I did look at it though. I lengthened the wastegate rod to where it falls right on flapper dont need to pull it to attach anymore. I also turned down manual boost controller almost all the way down. I still hit 27lbs of boost. Good thing is zero knock, fuel pressure is good and AFR was in the low 10's. Still not sure if I was running off the wideband though TPS was @ 3.6V. I will get another log to share at some point. My question is how do I get the boost down closer to 20psi to start tuning? I just installed this manual boost controller. Should I hook it back up to the factory wastegate solenoid and let the ECM control it? Don't want to hurt this thing before I get it dialed in.

Pull the rod till it just barely slips over the arm. That will start you out about 14-16 PSI. Each turn tightening will be about a 1 pound boost increase. Make sure the puck is absolutely free to move and doesn't bind up.

I removed boost controller and have hose hooked up "tuner style". Wastegate rod is backed off to just slip over flapper, "lowest setting". Boost still was going up 25+psi. I logged all the runs but can't seem to view them. Not sure what is going on. Here is my process hit the space bar it says recording, make pull. Hit space bar again to stop recording. Then hit the save file button, name the file and save. Then when I load the file to view it shows something but not the pull. What am I doing wrong? As far as my overboost issue I am wondering if I need to port the wastegate hole. I have a 6152 and it is untouched. I am beginning to wonder if this will make it to where I can control the boost. Thoughts? Here are a couple files let me know if you see something I don't. Thanks.

I think a answered my own question on the saving of logs. Im pretty sure I was hitting the save snapshot button instead of saving the entire log. Duh. But what are your thought on porting the wastegate hole. Once again it is a untouched 6152 turbo and a real Terry Houston downpipe. Not sure on the size of flapper or wastegate hole. I will have to take downpipe off to measure.

i cant read your log but that afr is solid even rich enough for 27psi,if the car knocks at that point you will need more meth/octane.is this a single or twin nozzle?

well at 27psi your not a beginner any more.the boost reports to the spring in the wastegate and has final say, the port size pressure will effect how the flapper works.

Still running integral wastegate. Spring setup is only on external wastegate setup right? Have heavy duty wastegate with adjustable rod.

Port the wastegate hole. I always used a thin smear of orange silicone and let it set up. It's easy to see. :)
