Hello all, had a question. Is it a bad idea to eliminate the wire connectors and go direct with wires on the stuff near the intake area? For example like the IAC connector harness and the harness that connects to the TPS. Basically asking can I cut off the plastic harness and just go direct wire per wire and solder them to wrap them all nice and neat with loom or do I have to keep the thick ugly plastic clips in between? I attached a copy of 1 of the plugs I would like to eliminate. Let me know what you all think???

What happens when you need to unplug stuff? Are you going to just cut this stuff loose?

I don't know about you, but most TR owners are unplugging something or another almost every day.

I agree there but i guess I explained myself wrong. Would it be bad to eliminate this big bulky plug and solder direct . I circled the plug in red.

To clean things up sure. No need for that adapter if you wire direct

Weatherpak pins, connectors, seals, are available.
John Spina can help U clean it up.
We use the nylon wrap. It's expensive, compared to the plastic hard wrap, but allows for a much nicer install.
We also use shrink tube w/ glue in it. It stays put.

Well, you can move the connector to other place within the engine.
Basically you will be re doing the engine harness.
Doable but time consuming just for looks IMO..
