Engine just stopped

Pulled onto highway hit the gas, a little quite, car dead - rolled off It will not start just crank.
Removed cap at end of fuel rail (screws on) pushed pin and only a little gas dripped out (assume it should be pressurized)

When I turn key on hear something running for about 30 sec (fuel pump?) Will check pressure at fuel filter next, just loosen nuts to see if fuel is there.
And help, it's needed.

Okay I would check your main power lines down at your starter . Also does it crank over or no? If not definitely look at your fuseable links attached to your starter and while you at it check out the grounds on the back of the head.

If it does crank over turbo Buick’s need 2 sensors to start and continue to run that is the crank sensor and the cam sensor. So check out your crank sensor it’s a easy sensor to replace. Your cam is a different story . I’m thinking it’s ether your main power fuseable links or your crank sensor

I thought it was two sensors to start and only one to stay running.

He said it was running and it stopped.

Over the web diqnosis says it can be the crank senor, fuel pump, ignition module or just a blown CCCI fuse.

First see if it has spark if it does then connect a gauge to check fuel pressure next.
You are correct the crank sensor would kill a motor while running u can run without the cam sensor just can’t restart it if cam sensor is bad

First thanks for the ideas! So here is the problem again and what I've tried so far.
car not used for month, started however needed to crank a lot more than normal.
Drove 3 miles, stopped for coffee, car Off for 30 min. Started as normal, drove another 4 miles, shut Off for 2 hours. Started as normal turned onto highway, hit accelerator heard a slight pop sound,
car turned Off. Would only crank and that’s the present condition.

Fuel Pump checks;
can hear the pump for 3 sec
push valve at end of fuel rail, only a small drip
Lossen inlet of fuel filter, listen to pump for 3 sec, crank over a little – saw some gas at fitting (nothing on floor) nothing seen at fuel rail end.
Isn’t the pump suppose to develop a HI pressure???

Crank Sensor;
2 wire just below the timing marker on crank, it is a little loose (moves up/dwn by 1/8”)
cleaned with electrical cleaner, still just cranks.
How tight should the plug be?

Fuse, CCCI;
10 Amp, pulled, measured – OK

Spark;
used an old timing light with inductive clamp on wire.
Never saw any light (need to verify the gun is still good)

Starter Wires;
the battery + goes to solenoid where two (18 gauge) are attached, NOT sure what needs to be checked here, that has 12V on them.
Need clarification here ??

Head grounds;
which head? Need more info!

Coil Pack;
Have extra, how does one check it?

if you don't have fuel pressure, you found a big problem. These cars can't start with out fuel pressure (fuel should have sprayed everywhere)

you also found a big problem with the crank sensor being loose. That's a deal breaker when it starts dancing around while running and makes contact with the relucter wheel)

Go ahead and order a new fuel pump. While you're waiting for it to get to you do this....

Got a fuel pressure gauge, turn key hear pump have 35psi Then crank engine, no start pressure siting at 25psi, after 5 min it's now at 12psi.

Pressure SB around 60psi - correct?

Have not devised a way to check for spark yet.

Back to repair, first problem - the hose inside the tank replacement that replaces the pulsator Have a source called Redhorse performance hose, however a pressure spec is not given (it's not listed as FI hose) Any one use it?

Got the inside tank hose, installed pump, put gas in (8gal or so), crank, crank, crank NO Start, not even a sputter. Pressure at rail - 12 psi
Is the oil pressure connected to pump power?
Next step is ?

With the fuel gauge hooked up apply 12 volts the the jumper behind the alternator and see what the gauge reads

Follow the gas line to the front checking that there is no damage to the line. If you need to open the line in the front of the engine and see if you have much if anything coming out there.

Could be a prime issue with the ECM or the fuel pump relay located on the right inner fender.

Thanks Michael,
Used a friend's t-Type and discovered you must leave the key ON to maintain pressure in rail, so fuel appears not to be the problem.

Spray some starting fluid in, not even a little pop so on to coil pack however both (had extra one) showed infinite resistance across terminals,
pulled pack, the ignition module is gooey, understand that's bad.
So need to order a pack and module, have located a Delphi module and NGK pack.
Any thoughts on that combination?
Delphi also makes a pack so may order both from same vendor. Or if another recommendation is offered here I will follow.
Car is just used as a driver.
