Anyone know the rules as they pertain to an 87 T ? As far as obtaining a sticker....
Thinking of gutting my hiflow cat is why im asking, thanks.

You can still fail in Mass. If the car is smoking, etc. but as said-no tailpipe test. RMV has a list of safety items they check: ball joints, windshield washer, horn, tires, rust holes, etc.

That's what it is here in NH. It's like the old days, just safety stuff. ;)

Gotcha Pronto.. I remember back in 04 when I bought it they stuck the sniffer in the exhaust, woulda been 17 yrs old back then.. does it change after 20 or 25 or something?

In NH the emissions is not inspected after 25 years.

Yep same here in RI, they sometimes pull random sniffer tests on older cars like ours just to get a reading , "for study purposes only".. My buddy that works at an inspection station told me about this not too long ago...Mike

just had my 2000 Silverado inspected. Safety only Got a sticker no problem. emissions test not required. Good thing too SES light has been on for a while with a emission code P0452 code.

I do mine every year in ma.

They just check plates and lights.

Could care less about anything else.

No plugging anything.

Burn rubber on the way in and on the way out.

Every time.

My 01 blazer has a rejection sticker due to evaporative something or other, I think 01 is the cutoff at this point, 2000 and under good to go
