Read further down the article where another guy got his sentence REDUCED to ONLY 3,000 lashes and 20 years in prison. I've seen videos of lashes and nobody could ever survive 3,000. Maybe they'll do them over a period of time perhaps. Even 30 lashes can do horrific tissue damage.
