used searches to no avail.

what is the approximate slip % of a stock D5 converter in 3rd locked and unlocked??

i'm trying to get a rough estimate of my trap RPM. probably getting a powerlogger this summer so i don't want to buy a tach now, and i don't have a place to put it lol.

thanks fellas,

ok, so i did some off-site research.. a l/u TC when locked, should have 100% effficiency or 0% slippage, because the lock-up clutches make it a mechanical coupling.. so when locked, the d5 should be 100% efficient, right?

i still couldn't find the unlocked efficiency number of the D5 tho...

i realize this is all highly rudimentary for anyone that knows anything about TC's, but i'm not one of those people lol. so thanks for bearing with me.

Not sure,.....

but 3rd is somewhere between 67 and 80% if I remember correctly from a discussion way back when! Locked is much better.:)

thanks for the response! didn't get an email notification about it, hence the delay. i was only looking for a ballpark, so that'll do fine.

Thanks again!
