curious about my coils????????

doing little mods to my rearend and happened to come across my buddys 85 Ttype with some yellow shocks (unknown brand) that has coils around them. was wondering if it would help me out at all, they seem pretty healthy. i have some gabrial gas riders. thanks in advance.

I could say that they are probably coil overs, but I would sooner say they are overload shocks, probably by Monroe, based on the yellow shock color. Was a common practice years ago to help

1. When carryng heavy loads and needed help holding the rear up

2. Cheap way to raise the rear when either the springs sagged or they wanted the rear higher for that 'cool' look.
