Crankshaft vs. cubic inches clarification

What were those used for?
The Indy stuff, the Busch stuff?

The Indy stuff was all short stroke typically 3.07" or less. I've never seen a stroke length over 3.625" in a Busch engine. It seems to me DLS was selling 3.750" stroke billet even fire billet cranks at one time I don't know if they are still available. The engine that was in John Gallina's 6 second car was an odd fire with a 3.750" stroke. I think Mike Booher had a couple of long stroke odd fire cranks made also.

Neal, you are correct. Dan built a couple of motors with the 3.750" stroke even fire crank. One of them went in a friends 99 Camaro that he built to race in a specific class. Unfortunately, by the time he got the motor from Dan & got the car actually ready to race. They changed the rules, so the V6 advantage went away. My buddy sold the V6 motor, & built a 632 Chevy to go 8 flat ET racing.:(;) I really wanted that motor! Unfortunately, I was short on funds when he decided to sell it.:banghead: Not sure where the motor went? I was told Dan was building another one for a customer, when my buddies was done. Heard it was for a GN, but never heard who it was for??

I have a 153 block that was done .30 over with a 3.625 crank , would that work out to a 278 cubic inch then, thank's for the help if any one could help out.

I just got done building A 290cbi for A customer.

You should be ashamed of yourself!
There is 2 specks of dirt on the floor in front of the red engine stand!

Oh, the horror!

All kidding aside. Please tell us more. You don't have to tell us all the secrets. But I notice you clearanced the bottom of the bores. Anything else you may want to elaborate on?

Clearance for the rod bolt for the longer stroke. Have to clearance the rods also for the cam.

No dirt just imperfections in the concrete[emoji23]
