Clicking noise in A/C compressor.

The pulley below the alternator is clicking and when it clicks the front of the pulley pops out and then returns to flush with the pulley. What is causing this? Thanks.

Anyone? Is this pulley the 'clutch' for the A/C compressor? It is clicking as soon as I start the cold engine and I have never heard this before while the car is idling.

Yes it's the Compressor clutch

Freon low?
The pressure switch cycles the clutch off & on when it gets borderline.
Mine went out w/o me noticing
Sometimes its the simple things...
