Built 200-4R, Precision Multi-Disk

I have for sale a built 200-4R originally done by Brian Hoffer with a mechanical trans brake. I pulled it out last year and did a re-freshening with a new clutch kit and seals, and added a Steel Billet input shaft and Steel billet Forward drum for my power level. While I had it apart I TIG welded in a 3/8NPT weld bung and GM temp sensor which I used to input to my ECU for it to control my large trans cooler fan. I then powdercoated the pan a gunmetal metallic to match my valvecovers. The trans was just removed about 500 miles ago to install a "direct feed" kit for the new Precision 3400 stall Multi-Disk L/U I was installing, and at the same time I put a new lock up solenoid in as preventative maintenance. The transmission has the Monte SS shift governor in it as well. When I pulled it apart I found it had a heat treated sun gear shell, and upgraded stator shaft tube. When I had it apart last I did notice the pressure switch terminal had broken off which I will order one and replace it if the buyer wants but I did not use it in my car.

Brian said when this was sold:
"Street/Strip 2004R lock up with brake.
This has a Monte SS CZ hi-po valvebody (model), and the trans has all my usual parts. 550 and 400 boost valves, pump ring kit, Alto clutches (extra throughout) and wide Red band with our shift calibration.(shift kit)
This unit is a lock up with a big servo, and transbrake. The input shaft and drum are hardened. Has a stock pan with a custom baffle for fluid control, and a drain plug installed.
This trans will have nice firm shifts, and shift at nearly 5500 at WOT. Perfect for a ported heads and cam car."

This transmission/converter worked perfect when removed and the converter was completely rebuilt and had the latest billet front cover installed for the new style lock up clutches 500 miles ago. I failed a timing chain on my car which lead to me deciding to install a built 3800 SIII in the car which I am backing with a 4L80E to get the right shift points (7000RPM) and not need to rig up a TV cable bracket.

I prefer local pickup in Central, IL and am willing to drive for added cost. I also would prefer to keep these two together but will separate.

$2300 firm on the combo or $1650 for the trans $850 for the converter.

Thanks, Dan

Would you be willing to post pictures of it? Was your car making the 600+ RWTQ when you had this trans in?

Thanks,

Kelly

Sorry I meant to post up pictures last night. I'll post some up tonight.

Yes the car ran very strong, A week before I pulled it out I made an even pull with my friend's 585WHP C6 Z06 that trapped 131 from a 40-120 roll without locking the converter. I'm pretty confident this trans would hold my 3800's power but I don't want to hassle with trying to get the governor right for a 7K RPM shift, and I really don't want to cut away the bell on it for the 60° bellhousing bolt pattern since then it wont be worth much.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks. My transmission is currently on its way out, so I'm looking around for some options. I just picked up a L/U 3500 Precision converter about three weeks before my trans started to go....is the direct feed kit the same thing that flows extra fluid to the converter?

Got some pictures, you can even see what the trans fluid looked like in it when I removed it since when I turned it on it's top to take a picture what ever was left in it poured out the tail shaft when the plug popped out... doh!

Thanks ,Dan

I also noticed when I was out in the garage I still have the box from Precision that the multi-disk Vigilante came in

I'll also say I forgot that this trans also has the -6AN fittings and caps that will go with the trans to keep it from leaking oil. AN cooler lines are so much easier to work with than the stock lines.
