Some nice low mi Buicks crossing the blocks in Kissimmee, FL Mecum Auction Jan18-27
Lucky enough to be on vacation in Orlando during that week:D and will be stopping in hopefully on the big $ Saturday to drool over cars I can't afford:(
Among the many awsome cars there:

Yikes! Even though this GNX was never even unwrapped, the visors and headliner are still deteriorating.

This 700 mile GN too.

Has anybody ever seen a regular gn go on the block? Why is it always the gnx's? lol.

I'm trying to convince my wife that a GNX is a much better investment right now than a mortgage. ;)

This happens when store the car in hot climate in storage unit with no air-flow/temputure control. The car oven bakes!!!, an anything with adhesive turns to Goo again. been here wasn't thrilled after words...

Your correct about the heat but the glue does not actually turn to goo. The headliners have a 1/8" thick foam backing already impregnated onto the cloth material and when exposed to excessive heat that foam actually turns to dust and therefore the headliner falls. Sot it's actually the "Foam" that deteriorates and not the glue! Either way it don't look good running those low mileage cars across the block with a headliner falling, but on the other hand it's All Original so I see their point.

I'd fix the headliner if it were me since it makes one question the state of storage..

Speaking of headliner turning to dust..

My 86 limited suffered saggy headliner syndrome when I was in college. I decided one day while driving down the highway with windows rolled down that I couldn't stand the headliner flapping anymore so I yanked real hard to rip it out of my way. ALL KINDS OF BROWN CRAP was flying the in the cabin and in my hair, eyes, etc.. I pulled over and recreated the Chris Farley Bees scene in Tommy Boy.

For the price of a headliner(around $150) and the price to install ($150??) I would have done it to a $80k + car before going to the auction, maybe they want to show its all original for the next owner to fix?
I did the headliner in my Ttype last year and its not too dificult, just takes time.

I think age in general deteriorates the foam\glue. Ive owned my lower milage GN for the last 12+yrs and its always been in a garage that never gets over 85 degrees and the headliner and visors both started sagging last year:( along with the bumper fillers hazing over.

$300? Hell I will remove the old & install a new headliner in Any regal for only $140.00 and that includes the new headliner material!! ;) (No visors).... So if your in the area and need a headliner done look us up...

I STORE MY CAR'S IN A TEMP CONTROL WAREHOUSE . THEY STILL FAIL . UNLESS YOU HAVE MOISTURE CONTROL .. THE GLUE THEY USED IN THE 70'S -80'S REALLY SUCKED & THE FOAM WAS WORSE !

Awesome cars but you wonder if the ample supply of low mile GNX's will hurt the sale price of each of them.

I paid $50 to mobile guy to fix mine,he came out to the house an fixed it on the spot,Still up an fine...it's even been taken out an put back up during full painting
