Most of you know me from performing the test fitting and research and development for the Grand National body parts and accessories for Goodmark industries/LKQ as well as Gbody Parts. I now run the ecommerce department for Tire Discounters Inc. as well as Buy Wheels Today (our Ebay and Amazon) performance wheel and tire internet business. Brian at Gbody has asked me to be involved with the selection and testing of the tires that fit onto his wheels. It's my understanding the wheels are close to arrival. I have been busy over the past week or so testing different fitments on my personal GN. I'm to the point where I know a handful of optimal tire sizes and am ready to order the tires into our internet store. For details on orders contact me personally. Now for the poll. I am putting up 4 different tire brands that we will offer tires for the wheels. Please vote for the brand you would like to best see offered. For the drag radial, we will be offering the Nitto NT05R in 285/40/18. I know this tire fits, performs well and has tested well.

255 40 18 on a 18x9 with a 1.5" drop (coil over) with -3.5 camber and +5.5 caster. VERY slight rub of inner fender well, need to decrease caster 1* and no rub. This is the wheel you would want on the front to be matched with the 9" wide for the back. The staggered appearance looks very nice.

Wheel is measured at a 4-3/8" back space 0mm offset.

On 18" tires, I went through this debate with my last car. My first replacement set I chose Mickey Thompsons' Street Comp. They offer them in 5 sizes. I was very happy with them as far as wear vs traction on my 430 rwhp 2011 Mustang. They lived for right at 27k miles which was decent for the type of tire they were. Four of them are Y speed rated and the 255/45R-18 is W speed rated. Jegs and Summit sell them.

After those, I went with Cooper Zeon RS3-S. The tread design is very similar to the M/T Street Comp's but not quiet as soft. However, these had a lot better life span and were on the car when I sold it. Easy 3/4 tread life left after 20k miles. Cooper has 10 different sizes for 18" wheels and they are Y speed rated.

I would consider these to be a much more affordable option that work very good on a daily driver with good power.
Hope this helps.

Interesting you run Nitto’s but not on the list, that’s what I’m running had 555r now nt05

NItto is a given for the drag radial. Interesting there is one vote and that is mine. So either this forum is dead, this thread is not getting any views, or no one is interested in getting the wheels. Well, peeps going to need to speak up or go shopping on their own.

Is this a front specific wheel with the 4 5/8" backspace?

Is this wheel designed for a little more "poke" with the 4 3/8" backspace?
I'm a bit confused as to the different backspacing.
Gbodyparts lists the 18x9 wheels as 4 1/4" backspace.

I think you mean 18 x 8 ?

Man those sure look good.. I have this really strong want for these, and add 1.5" to the inside to take advantage of my frame notch....

I want these wheels. Just have other priorities right now. The main one is getting the car running again, DUH!.

Great news from Rick at Baer Brakes (WHITE T) - these wheels all fit on 13” and 14” Pro Plus brakes !!! (Will surely fit the Track 4 and SS4’s)

He did note, however, the 18’s do not fit the Extreme brakes.

The backspacing GBody lists is not correct.
I measured them at 4-3/8, 4-5/8, and 4-3/4 (for the 8”, 9”, and 9-1/2” wheels).

Your numbers sound more logical.
Thank you.

I'm looking at getting some 18's later this year and thinking 275/35-18 fronts and 285/35-18 rears.
I like the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole position at the moment for the fairly grippy 280 treadwear rating and the large solid tread shoulders for quick turn in and cornering stability aaannd the fairly reasonable price.

I noticed that you posted 18x9 with 4 5/8 back space with -6mm offset for one comment and 18x9 with 4 3/8 and 0mm offset. Was one suppose yo be 18x8? Sorry, just reading up on these wheels as much as possible so I can get the proper configuration or wheel and tire and ride height.

See post #13. He noted the typo.
4-3/8 b.s. is for the 18 x 8 wheel.
