Boost Gauge…?

I just finished rebuilding my ‘83 T-type engine and it is running smooth. But the Boost gauge is on power all the time, even when it is idling. This is my first time seeing a boost gauge with the car running. Is the turbo ok, or should I take a look at it?

Thanks,
Besso.

First check your sensor & your wastegate activator (make sure that it's still connected)
Install a good vac/boost gauge

The lights are activated by a pressure switch near the cruise control servo. It will have a hose on top and two wires below. The switch grounds these two wires to complete the lights circuit. The switch is bad. If you unhook the wires, the lights should go out. (If they don't, the wires must be grounded by a short)

There is no way you could be boosted at idle. Get a pressure gauge and T it into the line goind to the pressure switch.

I just remembered this....I had disconnected the vac line to the sensor and plugged off the vac line, but I left the sensor plugged in. The sensor always showed 3 psi boost (yellow light).
The nipple on the sensor was rusted and would not seal causing a vac leak.
